Nordia Toronto is Growing!

blog_N_ON-min.png

On May 1, Nordia took the first steps to expand its Toronto Centre by acquiring new business and more than 150 experienced customer sales and service representatives.

“The acquisition serves as a springboard to provide Nordia with new major Ontario centre in an urban location to serve its customer accounts, particularly for service requiring a sales and loyalty DNA,” said John DiNardo, CEO of Nordia. “We intend to grow the centre rapidly and have already begun the planning and design of the new, expanded facility.”

The centre is located in the Parkway Place office complex in North York which offers a wide range of amenities and services, includes a coffee bar, a fitness centre, convenience stores and a large atrium. It is also easily accessible by car or public transit.

Once renovations are completed, the Toronto centre will be Nordia’s largest center in Ontario and employees will have access to an exceptional work environment: bright, spacious and modern with relaxation areas and an employee lounge with games, Internet and TV.

Following the tragic bus accident that decimated the Humboldt Broncos team on April 6, Nordia Kitchener held a “Pie in the Face” auction, allowing the hugest bidders to "pie" their management team in the face!

An amazing amount of $805 was raised and will be sent on behalf of the  Nordia Kitchener team to the Humboldt Strong Community Fund.

Congratulations to all for this very nice gesture!

As part of the #BellLetsTalk Day, our teams from coast to coast joined the conversation to put an end to the stigma surrounding mental illness through various activities. These activities included the sale of raffle tickets for our "Wellness Baskets", a pretty cool photo shoot and information kiosks.

Nearly 600 photos have been submitted and over $ 3,700 was raised and will be submitted on behalf of Nordia to the Bell Let's Talk Community Fund. A success across the board!

Hats off to the entire organizing team and our ambassadors without whom these activities could not have taken place! We are already looking forward to next year!

Here are in pictures, the winners of our amazing "Wellness baskets"  Happy "me time" to all!

Nordia Sherbrooke wins the Cultural Diversity Award

Last Friday, the Nordia Sherbrooke team proudly received the Cultural Diversity Award at the Sherbrooke Diversity, Employment and Entrepreneurship Fair. This award, presented by Actions interculturelles, aims to recognize companies in the region for their integration efforts with employees from the different cultural communities.

Finalist in the past five years, this is a first time winning for Nordia.

The Sherbrooke center is a completely bilingual workplace where a diverse and inclusive culture flourishes. The 48 people from the various cultural communities hired since the beginning of 2017 testify to Nordia's commitment to the immigrant communities in the region.

Congratulations to the whole team for this great recognition!

Like every year, the summer period was marked by our traditional employee appreciation BBQs. The organizing teams of the 13 centers have once again surpassed themselves in order to offer our employees with a wide range of fun activities such as dunk tanks, loot bags, numerous prizes and of course, an abundance of food! From hot dogs and hamburgers to brochettes, steak and salmon on the grill, there was a great variety again this year! Even if Mother Nature did not always cooperate, the smiles, the good humor, the fun and above all the family spirit that unites all Nordia employees was undisputed.

A big thank you to all the organizers and volunteers from coast to coast. We are already looking forward to next year!
